Roles and Responsibilities
- Developing parts of the GDF E3S Case, Disposability Assessments, External Hazards and Siting methodology and guidance.
- Acting as verifier when appointed by the E3S Case Systems Engineering Lead.
- Reviewing sections of the E3S Cases and key supporting documentation.
- Acting as an Independent Peer Reviewer of the E3S Cases and other associated assessments.
- Supporting Site Evaluation and Characterisation from an External Hazards and Site Licence perspective.
- Managing technical work provided by the supply chain and act as the IC (within limits of knowledge and experience).
- Identifying information or research needs to fill gaps in required evidence.
- Assisting the E3S Case Systems Engineering Lead in drafting specifications and quality plans, interactions with NDA and NDA group companies and responding to Regulator feedback.
- The aspects of the GDF programme that the job holder will principally be supporting are:
- GDF E3S Case.
- GDF Site Evaluation.
- Disposability Assessment.

Experience Required
Essential
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working with people from different functions and backgrounds, to achieve results through effective team-working and collaboration.
Willing and eager to learn. - Able to communicate clearly and concisely (including distilling complex technical information into simpler, more digestible forms) to a wide range of stakeholders (specialist and non-specialist).
- Understands the UK safety regulatory framework and the application of relevant legislation, guidance and relevant good practice within the nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry.
- Has a good understanding of the UK Regulatory framework and its implications for UK Licensees.
- Awareness of REPPIR legislation and its implications for siting.
- A degree (or equivalent) in a safety related discipline OR a minimum of 5 years demonstrable employment history in nuclear safety.
Desirable
- Experienced External Hazards author and verifier OR Experienced in the development and production of assessments in support of REPPIR.
